📍 PT Wuhan Southern Geo Engineering Indonesia | Jakarta, Indonesia

đź“… May 2021 - October 2022

From the bustling streets of Jakarta to the remote coastal regions of Aceh, my time at PT Wuhan Southern Geo Engineering Indonesia was an adventure in precision, problem-solving, and exploration. As a Surveyor from May 2021 to October 2022, I worked on diverse projects—staking out hospital foundations, mapping coastlines, monitoring power plant structures, and even flying drones for aerial surveys.

📍 Precision Meets Adventure: Key Projects

🔹 Bintan Alumina Indonesia (Sep–Oct 2022 & Feb–Apr 2022)

Equipped with GNSS RTK, I staked out pile points for factories and hospitals, ensuring pinpoint accuracy. I also detected pile shifts, helping to maintain structural integrity before construction even began.

🔹 Coastal Topography Mapping – Aceh (Sep 2022 & Jun 2021)

Venturing to Pasi Kuala Asahan, I conducted large-scale topographical surveys using GNSS RTK to create accurate coastal maps—critical for environmental and development planning.

🔹 PLTU 1&2 Nagan Raya (Jul–Sep 2022, Jan & Oct 2021)

Power plants require stability, and my job was to ensure their foundations were rock solid. I monitored substation deformation, maintained dewatering systems, and performed Pile Driving Analysis (PDA) tests to evaluate structural performance.

🔹 Enrekang, South Sulawesi (Dec 2021)

Supporting hydropower development, I conducted stakeout surveys using GPS RTK for soil sample drilling, ensuring precise planning for future construction.

🔹 Aerial Mapping & Drone Surveys (Nov 2021 & Jun 2021)

Drones aren’t just for cool aerial shots! In North Sumatra and Banda Aceh, I piloted DJI Phantom 4 Pro to capture high-resolution imagery, conducted GCP (Ground Control Point) measurements, and processed aerial data into DEM, contours, and orthophotos for topographic mapping.

🔹 PLTU SUMSEL 8 (May 2021)

Tasked with monitoring slope deformation, I used Total Stations and GNSS RTK to track land movement and verify aerial mapping data—essential for the stability of high-voltage power lines.

🏗️ Beyond the Data: Problem-Solving in the Field

Surveying isn’t just about numbers; it’s about adapting to unexpected challenges—whether it’s rough terrain, unpredictable weather, or last-minute project changes. From stakeouts in hydropower projects to rechecking tower foundation points, I honed my ability to think critically and act decisively in the field.

🔧 Tools of the Trade

  1. Hardware

I can operate a range of equipment including Waterpass, Theodolite, Total Station, DJI Phantom 4, GNSS RTK, and Terrestrial Laser Scanner BLK360.

  2. Geospatial Software

I am proficient with AutoCAD Land Desktop, AutoCAD Map 3D, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, PCI Geomatica, SNAP, PhotoModeler UAS, ENVI, Summit Evolution, Autodesk ReCap, Autodesk Revit, and MicroStation.

  3. Editing Software

I also have experience editing with CorelDraw, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Illustrator.

🚀 The Takeaway

My experience at PT Wuhan Southern Geo Engineering Indonesia was more than just a job—it was a journey of precision, exploration, and innovation. From land surveying and construction planning to structural monitoring and aerial mapping, I contributed to projects that shape real-world infrastructure while sharpening my expertise in geomatics and geospatial analysis.

And the adventure continues... 🌍✨
